In addition to the RPG Maker MZ 1.0.2 update, we have two new releases today! Fantasy Heroine Character Pack 7, and Futuristic Dungeons hits the scene!
The 1.0.2 update for RPG Maker MZ includes several bug fixes, for more information check here for the full list of changes. But let's get into the releases!
While a glimpse of gorgon’s view turns the enemy to stone, a beautiful succubus leaps forward to finish it off! That and many more are possible with Fantasy Heroine Character Pack 7! Coming with 16 different designs, the most recent entry in the series brings a new turn with having them all being humanoid but most are not human, allowing you to create new and exciting storylines around them. Several designs are inspired by mythological creatures, such as the elf, the lamia, or the kyubi. And they all come with large artwork you can use in your menu or title screen and a full set of charset, SV Battler, bust and face - both with emotions - and enemy battler versions in case you want to fight them instead of having them fight for you.
And that is very possible with the variations we have here: The alrmiraj, a humanoid battle bunny with beautiful sharp claws could be pretty dangerous and while the butterfly girl looks very innocent, it is very likely she is able to summon some very strong magic.
There are also four heroines wearing hanboks, traditional Korean dresses, a great party for a game set in a world based on Korea and its history/mythology. But maybe you want to go for a more Japanese based adventure? The mysterious snow woman would make both a great antagonist or protagonist, whatever you like!
And all of them will still fit into a full epic fantasy setting and that is the place where you can make the best use of the full plated axe warrior, the elegant elf hunter and the powerful devil girl.
The only limit on your imagination is your available resources, and this pack gives you a lot of new room to stretch your imagination!
Rinober’s resources are easily to spot due to his very distinct comic-style and for fans of that style, we have a brand new pack! Futuristic Dungeons brings 11 different tile sheets together to create different... well, futuristic dungeons.
There are both man-made structures and also natural caves, all in a variety of color choices, ready for you to use to build and explore. This variety allows you to create alien bases, natural caves on foreign planets, or even space stations.
But wait, there is even more! There are 9 parallaxes you can use for the background of your maps and the character folder is full of things to play with. With 16 brand new people sets you can both expand your pool of actors and NPCs and each of the new characters has a HUGE amount of color variations for you to choose from!
The objects in this pack add options for doors, traps, mining, chests, movable objects, effects, light sources and holograms. But that isn't the end, there are even more pieces waiting for you to build your futuristic world's dungeons and the exciting puzzles that inhabit them!
Now that RPG Maker MZ is out there, there are probably people out there that might have wished for a different style for the character sets. Don’t get me wrong, the chibis are cute and enable people to have a good workflow when creating them, but especially for games with more serious undertones, people could want something with different proportions. Today we have two artists to be featured and some additional honorable mentions!
Today we are going to have a closer look at characters – or charsets, sprites or character sets, as some people call them. There are some common misconceptions about how they work and some traps people run into, so we will use this chance to make sure they don‘t happen to you anymore!
